Diablo 4 is set in the unforgiving world of Sanctuary, which is home to many ferocious bosses that will test your skills. If you’re unlucky enough, you may encounter the hideous “Broodguard” Spider, which can be a difficult boss, so many fans wonder if there is any way to defeat them. Fortunately, we have a boss guide on how to defeat this monstrosity. Please Keep Reading!
The Broodguard doesn’t have a lot of attacks, but the attacks it does have can be problematic. Throughout the battle, you’ll encounter the following attacks:
Leg Stab/Bite - This is a generic attack where the Broodguard will attack you with one of its many legs (or bite you). Fortunately, it doesn’t deal much damage, so you can continue to attack the boss and take the hit. You could dodge this, but your dodges will be better served on its other attacks.
Web Throw - The Broodguard will throw out numerous webs around the arena, and if you get caught in one, you’ll either be slowed or rooted. The attack doesn’t deal any damage but will leave you vulnerable to a follow-up attack. For the most part, you can avoid this by staying close to the boss.
Poison Spit - The Broodguard will unleash a barrage of Poison puddles around the arena. There doesn’t appear to be any specific places it will spit these puddles, but staying close to the boss once again will avoid this attack unless it runs near to them.
Spider Host Adds - Throughout the fight, other enemies will spawn. These are called “Spider Hosts” and will explode, releasing a smaller Spider to attack you when defeated. So when they spawn, these should be your focus. Otherwise, you’ll end up with four enemies attacking you at once, which will overwhelm your small healing supply.
This is all pretty much the entire fight, and this boss doesn’t have too much health, and you can defeat it pretty quickly, especially in a group. Also, here some tips that can make the battle easier are:
Don’t be afraid to use your potions, and you’ll get some back every time you bring the boss’s health down past an arrow.
The Broodguard is susceptible to the Vulnerable effect, and most classes have a way to deal with that, so make use of it.
Use Utility Skills that increase your damage, such as Rogue’s Smoke Bomb. This is especially useful when you’ve staggered the boss.
Having a form of defensive skill can help, such as the Sorc’s Ice Shards and Rogue’s Dark Shroud, as you’ll be close to the boss for most of the fight thus taking more hits.
Most loot in Diablo 4 is random, and the rewards for this battle are no different, such as XP, Diablo 4 Gold, and more. It can drop Legendary gear, though.
